Build a network of doctors that specialize in geriatric medicine

Since you have decided to brand yourself as a senior real estate expert it makes sense to network with professionals that deal with this exploding demographic and are in a position to know when scenarios involving in-home care, assisted living and senior placement decisions occur. In many cases these decisions involve a real estate transaction.  As shown in Elena Merchand's podcast the real estate opportunity is huge.

A thirty second search in only one city, Chino Hills, revealed forty six physicians specializing in geriatric medicine. Click it here. If each of these physicians has only two hundred senior patients built up over years of a medical practice (likely an extremely conservative assumption) that's 9200 seniors with  possible health related living decisions over the next few years within striking distance of an agent farming Chino Hills.

So how can you get your name and brand as a senior real estate expert in front of these prospects and get even a small percentage of geriatric physicians or their office managers (it's a numbers game) to remember you and give you leads?  Here are some ideas:

  1. Plan and schedule a seminar on any of the topics identified in these strategies (trusts, senior placement, in-home care, senior events etc.) and create an invitation flyer that can act as hand out flyer and a PDF in an email blast.
  2. Identify the offices in your area and schedule a day that you are visit ten to twenty offices.
  3. Doctors have lots of gatekeepers. Don't expect to meet the doctors in an office but try to introduce yourself to the office manager and/or the person in charge of marketing for the practice.
  4. If they are busy (usually they are) get their card and leave behind your flyer.  Let whomever you talk with know that you are a senior real estate and senior marketing expert and networking with many healthcare professionals such as in-home care companies, assisted living facility operators, senior placement experts, you meet many senior clients and other geriatric physicians in your area and you have many of their clients attending your event.
  5. Communicate that this event is one in a series you provide to your clients, your network and other geriatric doctors and many announce these to their patients through email blasts.
  6. Most physician offices like other businesses create a list of clients over time that they likely communicate with on an ongoing basis using email services and a newsletter or other topical formats. Physician office marketing esperts are likely looking for new subjects to share with their clients.
  7. The goal is to get the marketing expert/office manager to eventually see you as a senior specialist able to offer events for their clients that they market with email blasts.
